Snipsly – Make Money Writing Content

December 17th, 2009 admin No comments

On my Xomba backlinking spree, I came across a site called Snipsly. It’s basically a site that you can use to create backlinks to anything on the web that you’d like. For example…articles you’ve written, niche blogs and you can also insert affiliate links and link to a product that you promote.

Snipsly gives writers a generous 80% of the Adsense revenue. In order to make money with Snipsly you’ll need to have a Google Adsense account. Your earnings will show up directly into your Adsense account. If you want to know if you’re earning through Snipsly, don’t forget to setup a URL channel to track the impressions and clicks of your ads on their site.

Ehow Experiment: 30 Ehows in 30 Days

November 3rd, 2009 admin No comments

A new month means a new experiment! For this month I’ve set a goal to complete 30 Ehows in 30 days. I love the format at Ehow. It’s so easy to write and I can get most articles done in less than 30 minutes. I generally stick to topics I already know a lot about to make the writing process faster.

Way Back at the Beginning of the Year…

I set a personal goal to add an additional 222 Ehow articles by the end of 2009. So far I have Read more…

Was My Hubpages Experiment a Success?

November 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

Just over a month ago, I set a goal for myself to begin using Hubpages as another revenue stream. The goal I set was to complete 30 hubs in 30 days and I did fall a bit short of my goal. I finished off the 30 days having completed a total of 24 hubs. I wouldn’t call this experiment a complete failure though, the good part is that I did finish 24 hubs with at least 450+ words of high quality content that link back to Read more…

My 30 Hubs in 30 Days Experiment: Week 2 Overview

October 14th, 2009 admin No comments

Now it has been 2 full weeks since I started the 30 hubs in 30 days Hubpages experiment. In case you missed it, here is my week 1 overview of this same experiment. I now have a total of 23 hubs published. Remember I had 2 I had written about 1 or 2 weeks prior to me starting this challenge, so to be fair, I actually have 21 that have been completed since I began the 30 day experiment. This means I only need to publish 9 more in the next 2 to 3 weeks!

This week I have 13 hubs out of 23 that have been Read more…

Ehow Does Not Want me to Have 200 Posts!

October 2nd, 2009 admin No comments

Okay, so here’s what has happened during the past few months. Ehow had their first article sweep when I got to about 220 articles, they then wiped out 22 of my articles. Then I got back up to about 212 articles and they took 18 more. More recently I got up to 202 articles again and then they removed 4 so now I’m back down to 198.

First of all, I wholeheartedly agree with most of the articles they took down. Truth is, they are all from when I first started writing for Ehow, before I bought Maria’s Ehow Ebook and before I knew much at all about SEO (search engine optimization). The articles I had that got deleted were Read more…

Finally Got my Google Adsense Earnings!

June 25th, 2009 admin No comments

See that?? I finally got my first payment from “the big G” AKA the Google Adsense program! google-screenshot_phixr

When I first joined the program, I honestly never thought I would ever reach payout. After learning about niche blogging from Amy’s Niche Blogger program, I started seeing pennies and then dollars coming into my account each day. (I chose to receive EFT payments and not paper checks, so the picture is a screenshot of my bank account.) Read more…

I Finally Got My Turn With Ehow :(

April 15th, 2009 admin 2 comments

If you are currently a contributor over at Ehow, you know that they have been seriously cleaning up the site lately. I was waiting for my turn and it finally happened yesterday. I logged in to find that I was 22 articles short of what I had the day earlier. So I went from 212 back down to 190. Boo! :(

It’s a little frustrating but I can understand why they’re doing it. They state on their site that they want actionable steps and many “How-to’s” on the site are in list form and that isn’t how they want their content written. Read more…

Cheapest Domain Registration – $0.99 .com’s!

February 18th, 2009 admin No comments

Getting a .com domain for $0.99 is the cheapest domain registration I’ve seen and there’s a sale going on right now at GoDaddy Domain Registar. I have a number of domains to my name and I never like to pay the full $9.99+ for a domain if I don’t have to – especially for .coms, but that’s just me. ;)

You do need to use a coupon code to get the special pricing, which will actually total $1.19 after the icann fee. Simply visit the link Read more…

Quality Eyeglasses for less than $9!

October 28th, 2008 admin 1 comment

Being able to see is pretty important. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that but I must state the obvious sometimes because in times like these, having enough money to purchase a quality pair of eyeglasses may not be so easy, especially if you take a trip to your local eyeglass specialist. With Zenni Optical, you could probably afford to buy yourself a spare pair of glasses too!

My kids are still very young and their vision is still perfect. I’m so jealous. But I do know that if there comes a time where one or more of my children need eyeglasses, I would buy them at Zenni for sure. They are receiving rave reviews from the pricing of their glasses to their customer service.

Plus if you’re a fan of shopping online, like myself, they charge a flat rate of $4.95 for shipping, no matter how many pairs of eyeglasses you buy. Being that gas prices have been skyrocketing, a lot of merchants have been raising their shipping prices as well, which is understandable but sucks at the same time. With all of the online shopping I do, I think $4.95 is a great deal for shipping!

If you still aren’t convinced, read this newspaper article!

My Weekly Goals: Week of 10.27.09

October 28th, 2008 admin No comments

It’s that time again…time to compile my weekly list of things to-do!

Here’s what I would love to get done this week:

  • My paper is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow for my pocketfold invites, so I hope to complete a mock-up this week. (I’ll post a picture when it’s complete!)
  • Bid on at least 5 jobs at Rent-A-Coder. I haven’t been on there in awhile. Shame on me.
  • Write up at least 5 articles on eHow. I’m up to 79 articles now. Woohoo! :)
  • Complete 5 articles for Demand Studios.
  • Stay sane. (We have all of 4 of our kids this week!)
  • Which reminds me…we have all of their costumes, but this week we need to find time to carve 6 pumpkins. Yes…6 of them! (I’ll be sure to post pictures of those too!)

Have a great week everyone!

Need Debt Consolidation?

October 27th, 2008 admin 1 comment

Debt consolidation is a high priority for a lot of consumers these days. With food and gas prices skyrocketing, it can be easy to get behind on all of your other expenses. I have actually been considering some debt consolidation myself and I think I’ll start looking into it sooner rather than later.

Obtaining debt loans may not be one of your priorities, but if you consolidate all of your debts into one loan, you’ll have just one payment instead of managing several payments and you could be debt free in as little as 12-30 months. Plus you could shave off more than 50% of your current balances, avoid bankruptcy all together and best of all, there is no credit check. :)

Weekly Goals/Update! (and more fun stuff!)

October 20th, 2008 admin No comments

Lately I’ve been an eHow fiend! I am up to 77 articles on eHow now. Just 2 weeks ago I was at 42. I’m still not stopping, I’m just going to keep plugging along while I have the ideas in my head and written on post-it notes all over my house. :)

I’m currently fighting a serious cold. It could be a sinus infection so I’ve been in bed, a lot. I won’t be planning on doing much this week besides my weekly eHow and ChaCha duties. Other than that, I’m just going to focus on trying to get better.

I also have my wedding to plan and I’m doing a lot of DIY projects so I haven’t had time to do as much work as I normally would be doing. If you’re interested in following me along on my wedding planning blog, you can find it here. I’ll be posting my ideas, guides and pictures as I plan along. :)

I hope everyone has a great week!

My Weekly Goals / Update

October 13th, 2008 admin No comments

Happy Monday morning! I don’t know if that deserves an exclamation point, but I gave ya one. :) I completed all of last week’s goals except for the costume listings. I planned to do that this weekend but I have been sick for the past 3 days now. I do plan on getting them listed tonight though.

Also, I completed 13 eHow articles. I’m not sure where all that came from but I still have many more ideas to write about which I plan on doing this week. I think I’m going to set a goal to complete at least 5 how-to’s each week until the end of the year. My earnings are already over $20 for this month so at this pace, October will be my highest month yet! Gotta love eHow! :)

The only things I plan on doing this week are:

  • At least 5 eHow articles
  • 1 post per blog
  • List any remaining costumes

I’m just really not feeling that well at all so I don’t wanna try to bite more than i can chew this week. :)

My Weekly Goals / Update

October 5th, 2008 admin No comments

I knew this past week was going to be hectic because I have all 4 of our kids home with me, but here is an update on last week’s goals:

  • I have written 8 articles for eHow this past week and published them. I still have 2 more to do to meet my goal and I plan on doing them tonight. I already have the topics and the notes, I just need to get them published.
  • I have written 1-2 blog posts per blog but I haven’t yet finished commenting other blogs which I will be doing more of this week.
  • I wasn’t able to finish any magazine queries, but I have started two of them. I plan on completing them early this week so I can get them out in the mail.

It sure has been hard to get motivated today. The weather here is so dreary and cool and it’s supposed to be this way for the next 4 days or so. Boooo. I will have to work extra hard this week because I did miss a couple of things I wanted to do last week. Since the weather won’t be cooperating much to help elevate my mood and keep me productive, I plan on drinking lots of coffee!

Weekly Goals for 10/06/08

  • 5 eHow articles
  • 3 magazine queries (I’ve started on two of them)
  • Finish up my buzz blogger work for the Prevention site and invoice them on Friday for the past 2 weeks
  • List any remaining Halloween costumes I have (I think around 5?)

I hope everyone has a great week!

My Weekly Goals

September 29th, 2008 admin No comments

Good morning!

This week is going to be pretty busy because I’ll have all 4 of our children to run after. :)

Here’s what I am planning to complete this week:

*10 eHow articles. (Yes, 10. I haven’t written any in awhile)
*At least 2 magazine queries, if not more.
*At least 1 blog post for each blog. 2-3 would be even better
*Comment on at least 20 other blogs related to fitness, wahm or sexual abuse.
*List ALL of my remaining Halloween costumes on eBay.

I think I’ll stop there for now. That should keep me pretty busy!

October is almost here already. Can you believe it? I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

My Goals for This Week

September 22nd, 2008 admin 3 comments

I have never made it a habit to write down my goals regarding my work at home ‘gigs’. Well, all that is changing this week!

I’m going to start making a list of my goals and posting it here on Mondays and then I’ll check in on the following weekend to check off the goals I have completed. I’m hoping this will help to keep me motivated and less distracted. There are so many distractions when you’re working at home.

I think making a list of items to complete each week will allow me to complete more tasks and get more work done because I’ll have a focus.

Without further ado, here are my goals for this week:

*Write at least 2 magazine queries
*Start working on a book proposal for a memoir that I really want to write
*Write at least 2 posts for each of my blogs (4)
*Finish up my sexual abuse Squidoo lens that I started this past week

Wish me luck! ;)

(Feel free to jot down your goals and leave them as a comment!)

My Latest Posts as a Buzz Blogger for Prevention!

September 19th, 2008 admin 2 comments

Happy Friday everyone!

I just wanted to share a couple of new posts that I have recently written as a buzz blogger at Prevention.com. I feel that they’re helpful for WAHMs, other moms alike and females in general.

Have a look:

1. Managing Your Daughter’s 1st Pregnancy

Not having been the chance to be a grandmother-to-be (because my daughter is only 2…) I do have some tips for moms being that I was a teenager when I first became pregnant and my mom was so supportive and helpful of me. I think mothers and daughters alike will agree with some of these. Feel free to add more tips if you’d like. :)

2. How I Keep My Face Oil Free

Ugh. Oily skin. I hate it! Recently I tried a new skin care regimen that has banished the oil from my T-zone (where it’s the absolute worst!) This blog post will go through the steps I take to have skin that feels clean, fresh and most importantly, NOT oily!

Remembering 9/11

September 11th, 2008 admin No comments

Where were YOU 7 years ago today?

I was in California visiting my grandparents. My grandma came in to wake me up around 6am (PST) and she said, “Something terrible has happened to our country.” Immediately I thought that the world was ending or something. I was only 18 years old and I had never ever imagined that somebody would have crashed airplanes into huge buildings in New York City. It was all crazy to me.

I remember going to church shortly after finding out to pray with other people. I had goosebumps the whole time and I cried. We all cried. I was glued to the television for 3 days, I just couldn’t believe what I saw. The day the airports opened back up I had to fly back home to Minnesota. That was the most nerve-wrecking plane ride I have EVER been on. It was really eerie.

I hope you all take some time today to remember those who were lost. I know I will be.

Blake Starts Kindergarten Tomorrow! :)

September 7th, 2008 admin 1 comment

Blake, my 5-year-old (and also my eldest) starts school tomorrow. We went to his Kindergarten Entrance Week appointment last Thursday where we got to meet his teacher and some of the parents and he got to meet a few of the kids that will be in his class.

He was so nervous, but I know once he gets into the school routine, he will do just fine. I’m so excited for him and I’m also excited to have a little more time during the day to get more things done around the house, and more work of course!

I can’t believe he’s already starting Kindergarten. I still remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. It really is amazing how fast kids grow up.

This year, our school district is really cutting back on transportation costs, which is unfortunate for us, because they’re expecting our 5-year-old son to walk over 0.6 miles to school. I understand having older kids walking, because to them it’s not really all that far, but for somebody just getting used to going to school and being around hundreds of other kids, I really don’t think it’s a great idea for a 5 year old to walk – especially since he’ll be walking along a busy road and having to cross busy streets about 5 times. That does not sit well with me. So we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that we can get him rides to school. I will worry a lot less about him this way. I KNOW he will be getting to school.

Maybe I’m just a little over-protective? I’m not sure. But I do know that he will not be walking to school this year. We even did a couple of practice walks with him and that helped to really solidify my decision of him not walking. But anyway, other than that, I’m really pleased with the school staff so far and I’m hoping this will be a great first year of school for him.

I can’t wait to hear about his first day and I will be sure to post an update. :)

Labor Day Weekend :)

August 30th, 2008 admin No comments

Wow. My house is the quietest that it’s been in a long, long time. It’s almost weird, but I’m really trying to enjoy it. We only have one of our kids for this whole weekend so it’s a good time to get rested up and ready for them when they all come back on Monday. :)

We have no plans for the weekend at all. Well, besides relaxation of course. We were going to go to the Minnesota State Fair but I just don’t think I have the energy or the patience to deal with the heat and all of the people. Someday I’ll get brave and go again. There is just so much to do and see, it’s almost overwhelming for me. The State Fair for me, is pretty much like being stuck in traffic. That’s just how I feel about it. LOL

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

<~~Don't those cheesecurds look delicious?! Now I must go eat some lunch. :D

Get Cash For Your Used Books!

August 23rd, 2008 admin No comments

I am a college student, so I am constantly buying textbook after textbook for each of my classes and then once class is over I have no idea what to do with my books. I’ve thought about selling them on eBay, but I wouldn’t be able to get hardly anything for them, which depresses me because textbooks are insanely expensive, sometimes even if you do buy them used.

I recently came across Cash for books. What you do is sign up for an account, type in the ISBN from the book you would like to get cash for, C4B will PAY the shipping charges for you to send it to them and then send you cash via Paypal.
This is the best option I have come across thus far and I use it. I haven’t tried selling any of my regular fiction or nonfiction books yet, but I’m positive you can get cash for those as well and when I get a spare minute, I’ll be going through all of my books. Who doesn’t love money for things they no longer need? It’s a great way to make some extra cash. :)
