Ehow Experiment: 30 Ehows in 30 Days

November 3rd, 2009 admin Leave a comment Go to comments

A new month means a new experiment! For this month I’ve set a goal to complete 30 Ehows in 30 days. I love the format at Ehow. It’s so easy to write and I can get most articles done in less than 30 minutes. I generally stick to topics I already know a lot about to make the writing process faster.

Way Back at the Beginning of the Year…

I set a personal goal to add an additional 222 Ehow articles by the end of 2009. So far I have only added a total of 67. This means to meet my goal, I still need to add another 155 articles. Yikes. I guess the good news is that I did add Hubpages and Suite101 to my revenue streams, along with a few blogs, so I have been busy. I’m not sure I’ll be able to write 155 articles by 12/31/09 but I plan on working really hard to see what I can get done. If I complete at least 30 Ehows this month, I’ll then have a total of 225 articles on site and will need to write another 125 to meet the goal I set at the beginning of this year.

Keyword Research

I will be using Micro Niche Finder to do my keyword research for these articles. I have been using it for the last few months whenever I write Ehow articles and it’s proven to work very well in finding keywords that I think will be great for writing articles around for the Ehow website. Micro Niche Finder is one of the best investments I’ve ever made when it comes to finding keywords and actually making money writing online, followed by Maria’s Ehow Book. If you already have a good understanding of SEO and how to find good keywords, you probably don’t need to spend money on the guide but it’s a great tool for those who are new to writing articles online as a way to make money. Everything you need is all in one place.

How I Plan to Get 30 Articles Written in 30 Days

Even though my Hubpages experiment fell a bit short of 30 hubs in 30 days (I only completed 24), I have found Ehow to be a lot easier for me and I can write articles there a lot more quickly than I can a hub. Plus with hubs I was aiming for at least 400 words of content, with many of them being in the 500 to 800 word range. Ehow articles are generally a bit shorter than that. I will be doing most of my writing during the weekdays because I like to spend the weekends with my husband. Plus it’s football season and I watch college and pro so that takes up a good part of the weekends during the fall and winter months.

I also have a number of articles still in draft status and they are showing an expiration date of 11/21/09 so I need to get those completed first. That will cut back on some keyword researching time because I have already done it for those draft articles. That may help me to complete even more than 30 articles, but I’m not holding my breath. 30 is the magic number for me this month. Anything more than that is just icing on the cake.

Reporting

Starting next Wednesday (11/11), I will be posting weekly updates of this Ehow experiement. I don’t do a whole lot of statistical tracking there, but I will post how many articles have been completed and where my earnings are at.
