During the past few days I have learned that I will absolutely have to back out of this challenge. I am completely bummed. I really wanted that mousepad! During the first few weeks of the challenge, I was able to post 19 new Ezine Articles which is more than double of what I had before and I also earned Expert author status on the site. So I do have that much to be proud of. Maybe at a later date I can try a challenge like this again, but for now I just can’t do it.

Here’s the deal:

I get to start paying back my student loans next month so all of the writing I will be doing in the coming months will be for residuals or up front pay ONLY. I just cannot afford to waste time writing articles just for backlinks at this point in time. I’m glad I was able to get up the 19 articles I did get because it also gave me 38 new backlinks for a couple sites of mine.

I guess the good news is that I will still be posting here about my writing and earnings and hopefully there will be a whole lot more of both in the coming days and weeks! I’ve already contributed 6 new articles to Suite 101 this month and I haven’t done that since I started last spring. I’m currently earning more than $1/article per month there so my focus has definitely shifted over to Suite 101 for now, along with my 2 primary blogs.

Best of luck to anyone who is continuing on with the challenge! If a miracle happens, I might try to contribute more but I really, really doubt that I’ll hit the 100 mark by April. I need to write 81 more articles to reach that number!
