Looking Ahead to 2010: My Work at Home Writing Goals

December 29th, 2009 admin No comments

It’s that time again. It’s almost a new year and before the new year starts, I like to think about what I’d like to accomplish in the next 12 months. I believe that if you don’t set goals, then what are you working for? Or towards? It’s very easy to get off track and lose motivation if you don’t make small goals for yourself. How else can you measure how far you’ve come? Read more…

I Finally Got My Turn With Ehow :(

April 15th, 2009 admin 2 comments

If you are currently a contributor over at Ehow, you know that they have been seriously cleaning up the site lately. I was waiting for my turn and it finally happened yesterday. I logged in to find that I was 22 articles short of what I had the day earlier. So I went from 212 back down to 190. Boo! :(

It’s a little frustrating but I can understand why they’re doing it. They state on their site that they want actionable steps and many “How-to’s” on the site are in list form and that isn’t how they want their content written. Read more…

An eHow Milestone: I hit 200,000+ Page Views!

February 22nd, 2009 admin No comments

As many of you know, I have been writing for eHow since July 2008. I dabbled and submitted a couple of articles and made a few cents. Then, as a regular WAHM forum reader, I came across WriterGig’s ebook somehow, purchased it, followed her instructions and made $25 on eHow my very first month – July 2008! ehow-earnings-pageviews

On February 20, 2008 I hit over 200,000 page views! To be honest, I can’t remember the exact number, I think it was 200,067. Today I’m averaging right around 1075 article views per day and I have 191 articles up on the site – trying to get to 200. I had to take an eHow hiatus for the last month and a half to work on my niche blogs, but I’ve written another 11 articles this week and I’m hoping to be at 200 articles by March 1st.

If you have not yet signed up with the eHow Writer’s Compensation Program, you need to. (Open only to U.S. residents) If you work at it, you can definitely make a nice residual income from eHow because your articles will continue to get views and make money for as long as they’re posted on the site!

It is important to not put all of your “eggs into one basket” though. Don’t fully rely on ehow to make money, but do put it a nice effort there and you’ll make some nice cash every month. Some other content writing sites that pay include Bukisa and Infobarrel.
