Was My Hubpages Experiment a Success?
Just over a month ago, I set a goal for myself to begin using Hubpages as another revenue stream. The goal I set was to complete 30 hubs in 30 days and I did fall a bit short of my goal. I finished off the 30 days having completed a total of 24 hubs. I wouldn’t call this experiment a complete failure though, the good part is that I did finish 24 hubs with at least 450+ words of high quality content that link back to articles or websites of mine.
I only managed to add one new hub since my last blog post because I’ve had some kids sick with strep. The 2 latest hubs that I published have yet to be indexed in Google but I’m sure they will get there fairly soon. The biggest source of traffic by far is Google and that makes me happy. In the beginning it was all from the Hubpages site, but as the hubs got indexed, traffic from Google has increased dramatically and it’s still climbing.
Total Accumulated Earnings for the Month: $3.16 – I’m actually pleased with this number. My click-through ratio is over 3% and under 5% so far and I haven’t been targeting keywords with a high cost-per-click value. (According to the Google Adwords tool) I’m happy to be able to say that I was able to make a few dollars during my first 30 days and that it didn’t just end up being cents.
Total Views for the Month: 1,395 – Google accounted for getting 655 people to view my hubs. 288 of those were during the last 7 days of October so the traffic from Google continues to climb.
I will post another Hubpages update about 1 month from now to analyze how the hubs do one month after being published.
